Hangtown kicks off the 2017 AMA Motocross season

Straight off a season-long battle with now retired Ryan Dungey for the 2017 Supercross championship, team Dunlop alumni Eli Tomac left the field in his wake at the first motocross round of the season at Hangtown, CA. Tomac at one point built up a lead of well over 20 seconds in the first moto, and followed that win with a second win in moto 2 by nearly 10 seconds.

Marvin Musquin finished a solid second overall with 2-2 finishes followed by Tomac’s Monster Energy Kawasaki teammate Josh Grant. Cole Seely and Cooper Webb rounded out the top five overall.

In the 250 class, it was newly-crowned Supercross East champion Zach Osborne who grabbed holeshots and back-to-back moto wins for first overall. Behind him though it was a battle for the two remaining podium spots. Team Dunlop alumni Austin Forkner grabbed second in the first moto followed by Jeremy Martin. In the second moto, it was brother Alex Martin in second and Team Dunlop alumni Aaron Plessinger in the final podium spot. Overall, Alex Martin finished second, Plessinger third, Team Dunlop alumni Adam Cianciarulo in fourth and Forkner rounding out the top five.
