In 2006, Steve Rapp raced in AMA Pro American Superbike, earning eight top10 finishes and in Superstock, earning three top-five finishes. Rapp won the Daytona 200 Formula Xtreme race and earned four additional podium finishes in the 2007 series to finish second in the championship. He also raced in AMA Pro SuperSport, earning podium finishes at Barber Motorsports Park and Laguna Seca and placing fourth in the championship.
He finished third in Formula Xtreme and finished no lower than fifth all season in 2008. His highlights were second at Daytona and three more podium showings with thirds at Infineon Raceway, Miller Motorsports Park and the Laguna Seca finale. In 2009, he finished 10th in AMA Pro Daytona SportBike with two podiums (Infineon and New Jersey) and 11 top 10 finishes Rapp Finished fourth overall in AMA Pro Daytona SportBike, earning seven podium results (four of them runner-up finishes).
Rapp earned second in the point standings for the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 Series in 2011, earning two poles (Daytona and Barber) and two wins (Miller and Barber) and finishing in the Top 10 in every round. He also had nine National Guard SuperBike starts with San Diego BMW, earning Top 5 finishes at Infineon, Miller and Barber. During his 2012 season, he finished 9th in the AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike point standings. His big year was comprised of 13 top 10 finishes and 4 top fives. His best race came at Homestead-Miami Speedway where he finished second. Rapp leads the 2013 XR1200 points chase with two race wins under his belt.
